The Texas A&M Aggies host the Alabama Crimson Tide who are looking to hand Jimbo Fisher’s team a third-straight loss.

The No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide look to continue their dominance this week on the road against the Texas A&M Aggies. Alabama is coming off their most dominant victory yet after stifling a high-powered Ole Miss offense en route to a 41-21 victory. The Aggies on the other hand are trying to snap a two-game losing streak after losing starting quarterback Haynes King in Week 2.

Last week, Texas A&M came very close to victory losing 26-22 to SEC West opponent Mississippi State. In the week prior to that, they lost 20-10 to Arkansas. So despite the two-game skid, the Aggies have been competitive.

Meanwhile, Alabama is trying to hold off the No. 2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs, who receive more first-place votes every week. For the top two teams, it’s not just about winning, it’s about winning impressively as their performances will be compared. For Alabama, they have been doing so by extending a bizarre streak of not trailing in games since early last season. That streak will be on the line again this weekend against Texas A&M.

3 bold predictions for Alabama vs Texas A&M

1. Bryce Young will throw for 400 yards

Bryce Young, who is the leading Heisman candidate, has been phenomenal this season. The second-year quarterback has impressed with his poise, accuracy and off-platform throwing. With all that he has done, he has yet to throw for 400 yards, something that has become very common in the Alabama offense loaded with weapons.

This week will be the week he does it. The 3-2 Aggies have struggled defensively in the last two weeks period. In their last outing against Mississippi State, Texas A&M gave up 408 passing yards to the Bulldogs. The Tide is a far more talented offense than Mississippi State.

Expect Young to connect with numerous receivers often and early on explosive plays. In the first five games, eight different Tide players have caught touchdowns, with six having at least 100 receiving yards. Surrounded by so much talent. Young will show why is the front runner for Heisman and deliver another highlight-filled performance.

2. Alabama’s Defense will record multiple interceptions

When Aggies quarterback Haynes King went down with an injury, that forced sophomore quarterback Zach Calzada into the starting position. Calzada has struggled during his time as the starter. In Texas A&M’s last three games, Calzada has thrown an interception in each. On the year, Calzada has five touchdown passes to four interceptions. That’s not a recipe for victory when going against a loaded Alabama team with a quality defense.

In five games, the Tide have recorded six interceptions. Their combination of a strong pass rush with aggressive defensive backs forces opposing quarterbacks into giving the ball away. Will Anderson Jr., sophomore outside linebacker, is one of the best defenders in all of college football. He plays with an extremely high motor that flashes off the screen with his effort. Expect Anderson Jr. to spend a lot of time in Calzada’s face forcing the turnover-prone quarterback to make even more mistakes than usual.

3. Alabama will win 49-10

The No. 1 ranked Tide will continue to roll this week against the Aggies. Texas A&M is struggling right now. They started the year with so much optimism entering the year a top 10 ranked team. They are now unranked with two defeats as they gear up to play the most complete team in all of college football.

For Alabama, they will continue to do what they do and that is dominate on both sides of the ball. The only challenge the Tide have faced this year is themselves. At times, they have struggled to maintain their intensity against inferior opponents and have yet to play a complete game. If they start fast and keep their foot on the gas for four quarters, they should make light work of Texas A&M and win at least by a score of 49-10.

Saturday night on CBS, a struggling team and a peaking team will face off and maintain their current paths.
