Adam Kownacki dropped his second fight in a row on the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3. A questionable round 6 disqualification gave Robert Helenius the W.

On the Oct. 9 undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3, Robert Helenius was having a good night against Adam Kownacki. In round 6, it was all over, but probably not the way anyone predicted.

Helenius knocked out Kownacki in 2020, so he had the confidence coming into the rematch. He picked up where he left off.

Helenius closed Kownacki’s eye by round 2 and was beating him up. Kownacki’s nose was bleeding in round 3, and that’s when he landed low on Helenius, which dropped the Nordic Nightmare to his knees.

One too many low blows caused the referee to disqualify Adam Kownacki, giving Robert Helenius the victory

Kownacki was warned for the infraction but went low again in round 5 and lost a point.

Another low blow in round 6 was all the referee needed to see. He disqualified Kownacki, giving Helenius the win.

It was a questionable stoppage since the last stray shot from Kownacki wasn’t damaging, but Kownacki was in serious trouble. This might have been his way out of the fight.

Helenius has turned his fortunes around since being viciously knocked out by Gerald Washington two years ago. He’s on a tear and is moving up the heavyweight boxing ranks.
