Oklahoma alums Kyler Murray and Marquise Brown reacted to the Sooners’ walk-off win over the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Showdown.

The 2021 edition of the Red River Showdown did not disappoint, as it may have gone down as not only the game of the year, but quite possibly the game of the decade.

After the Oklahoma Sooners trailed the Texas Longhorns 38-20 at halftime, they came all the way back to win the game 55-48 on a walk-off touchdown run by Kennedy Brooks.

Oklahoma alums were understandably hyped about following the clutch, come-from-behind victory.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown were among those to share their excitement about the victory.

Let’s just say that there were plenty of “Boomer Sooners” tweeted out following the Red River Showdown. But the Ravens wide receiver was not done there. He decided to put his teammate and Texas alum, DeShon Elliott, on blast with a screen capture of their video call.

The Sooners were not having the greatest go of things in the first half, as quarterback Spencer Rattler struggled to get anything going. Head coach Lincoln Riley made the move to send Rattler to the bench and Caleb Williams under center. Let’s just say the decision worked out quite well.

Williams completed 16-of-25 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 88 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Brooks, who scored the game-winning touchdown, accumulated 217 yards and two scores on 25 carries, averaging a ridiculous 8.7 yards per carry.

With this victory in the books, let’s just say that there will be plenty of Oklahoma alums in the NFL wear Sooners gear heading into Week 5 on Sunday.
