When Atlanta Braves left fielder Eddie Rosario got caught stealing second base, he became the first player to do so in the 2021 NL postseason.
Stats never tell the whole story, but in the story of Braves left fielder Eddie Rosario, they paint a clear picture as to how valuable he’s been in this NL playoff series.

As of Wednesday Rosario was the NL’s best hitter of the postseason with a 1.248 OPS. In the NLCS alone, he was hitting .600 (9-for-15) through Game 4.
Though a prolific batter he may be, Rosario just earned another exclusive stat: he was the first player to get caught stealing in the National League postseason.

Eddie Rosario becomes first NL player to get caught stealing bases in entire Series
Rosario’s out helped to close out a scoreless third inning for the Braves, which put Atlanta at a disadvantage during a roaring Dodgers comeback. Besides the two runs scored with Dodgers relief pitcher Joe Kelly on the mound, the Braves haven’t brought home a single run throughout the first half of Game 5.
In moments like this, the Braves are relying on Rosario’s elite batting potential to help them take home the win and clinch the series.
Rosario is one-fourth of a strategy the Braves employed right at the July 30 trade deadline. Trading for four outfielders, including Jorge Soler, the Braves have pulled in batters who have been invaluable in their most recent playoff appearance.
Around the July 30 deadline, Atlanta traded for four outfielders: Adam Duvall, Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario and Jorge Soler. In 101 plate appearances this postseason, they're hitting a combined .341/.400/.593 with six homers and 21 RBIs in eight games. Atlanta now up 3-1 in NLCS.

Jorge Soler has returned after making the COVID-19 list, which put the Braves at a heavy-hitting advantage over the Dodgers coming into the game.
