Robert Griffin III went out of his way during the Oklahoma-Kansas game to praise quarterback Spencer Rattler for supporting the team after being benched.
Kansas’ upset bid of Oklahoma was one of the biggest stories of Saturday’s college football slate, especially because of the quarterback controversy for the Sooners.
Oklahoma benched Spencer Rattler in favor of Caleb Williams after the Texas game but their issues remained while struggling against the Jayhawks. That prompted plenty of conversation about whether Rattler should get another chance.
If he does, it’ll only be because he stayed engaged with the Sooners and didn’t check out.
Robert Griffin III had major praise for Spencer Rattler’s response to getting benched
ESPN color commentator Robert Griffin III made a point of praising the now-backup quarterback for being a good teammate.
Griffin spent a while singing Rattler’s praises. After being benched, he could have simply left the team, but he remained and is doing his job by being prepared as the No. 2 option.
