If you’re wondering how Spencer Rattler feels about Caleb Williams overtaking him as the Oklahoma football starting quarterback, just look to Instagram.

Spencer Rattler was the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy entering the season as the Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback and a contender to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. But after struggling early in the season (and with chants from the Oklahoma football crowd to put in freshman Caleb Williams while playing West Virginia), a breaking point was reached.

Williams was inserted against Texas in the Red River Showdown and led the Sooners to a 21-point comeback win. He started the following game against TCU and, in those two appearances, Williams has six passing touchdowns, three rushing scores, and no interceptions.

If you’re wondering how the quarterback he replaced is responding to the switch at the position and his teammate thriving, social media has the answers: Rattler recently unfollowed Caleb Williams on Instagram.

Spencer Rattler unfollows Caleb Williams on Instagram and the Oklahoma football QB room appears divided.

From the moment that Caleb Williams, who has already put himself into the Heisman conversation despite not playing until Week 6, took over, Rattler inevitably was headed for the transfer portal at some point.

The big question for the present, though, was how Rattler would respond while still a member of the Sooners. Him unfollowing Williams on Instagram is another indication of how he feels about the Oklahoma football program, his teammate starting at quarterback, and the situation at hand.

There have been moments of Rattler seemingly doing the right things, even returning to the field against Texas to notch a two-point conversion. However, unfollowing Williams makes it abundantly clear what his real feelings are.
