Alex Bregman’s Instagram story before Game 6 should scare absolutely no one

The Houston Astros third baseman pumped himself up with some music before Game 6, and it didn’t exactly hit home.

Bregman had a nice performance in Game 5, and a solid bounce-back given how the rest of the series has gone. When asked about in-game adjustments, Bregman stated that he made some changes to his top-hand approach, which had been in pain for most of the postseason.

Something must have worked, but it likely wasn’t his pregame music routine which made the difference.

Before Game 6, Bregman posted a video to his Instagram story driving to Minute Maid Park. The video — of himself in the car — included the All-Star talent rocking out to ‘We Still in This (Expletive)’ by B.O.B and others. It’s…the least intimidating song I could think of.

Astros: If Alex Bregman succeeds, it will not be because of his song choice

Bregman overcame a trolling attempt from the organist at Truist Park in Game 5, in which the Braves played ‘Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty when he came up to bat, in response to the Astros third baseman moving down in the lineup.

It was a curious choice, and a clever one, had Bregman not immediately responded with an impressive performance in a game the Astros desperately needed. Houston overcame a first-inning four-run deficit, and won Game 5 to send the series back to Minute Maid Park.

So, in a way, Bregman’s song choice makes sense given the Astros situation. That doesn’t change the fact that the Houston star chooses to hype himself and Astros fans up for a huge World Series game with…B.O.B.
