Nebraska football is looking for the program’s first win over Ohio State since 2011 when the Huskers welcome the Buckeyes to Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are gearing up to face off against each other this weekend and, when considering Nebraska’s struggles, it’s fair to say this game might get ugly.

The Huskers haven’t been able to get past the Buckeyes in a few years, so when was the last time they won in this series?

Despite the fact that they are two programs that have had success historically, the Buckeyes and the Cornhuskers haven’t really had many opportunities to play each other. In total, they’ve faced off against each other nine times with two of those meetings happening in back-to-back seasons in the 1950s.

Ohio State ended up winning both of those games, in 1955 and then in 1956, before losing a game

When did the Nebraska Cornhuskers last beat the Ohio State Buckeyes?

It’s been a decade since Nebraska has been able to beat the Buckeyes. The Huskers won shortly after making the switch to the Big Ten, in 2011, but they haven’t won a single game against the Buckeyes since.

In that 2011 matchup, Nebraska came out on top in Lincoln 34-27. And that’s really the last major moment Husker fans have been able to celebrate in this series.

Ohio State has rattled off six consecutive wins over the Huskers and several of those wins have been by large margins. In fact, of the nine games these two teams have played against each other, only three have been decided by eight or fewer points: when Ohio State won 28-20 in 1955, when Nebraska won in 2011, and then when Ohio State beat Scott Frost 36-31 in his first season in 2018.

Outside of that, this series has been really lopsided. When considering how the two teams look right now, it seems likely that we’ll be looking at another lopsided Ohio State win this season.
