Dan Mullen pens goodbye letter to Florida football fans

After being fired as the head coach of the Florida Gators, Dan Mullen wrote a farewell note to Florida football fans.
The Florida football program is officially moving into a new era as Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen was fired Sunday.
Despite the fact that Mullen’s time with the Gators appeared promising early on as he found success in his first could seasons, his fourth year in Gainesville was considerably less successful than what was expected of him. Subsequently, Mullen was let go after underachieving with Florida this year.
Still, Mullen seemed grateful for his time with the Gators. He said as much in his letter to Florida football fans, which he shared on Twitter.

The Gators will be without Mullen for their annual rivalry game against the Florida State Seminoles. Should Florida come out on top of that game, they’ll become bowl eligible.
Mullen exits Gainesville with a record of 34-15 during his time at Florida and an overall head coaching record of 103-61.
While that seems like a good record (and it is), Mullen never won a championship of any kind with Florida (or the Mississippi State Bulldogs) and his lackluster reputation as a recruiter caught up to him. That’s not even to mention his inability to consistently beat the Georgia Bulldogs or the fact that Florida is 5-6 on the season.
