The Baylor Bears won the Big 12 Championship by literally inches, stopping Oklahoma State at the goal-line. The radio call was fitting.
The Bears’ radio network was just as hyped as you might expect, as Dave Aranda’s group won the Big 12 Championship, stopping No. 5 Oklahoma State at the goal-line on what would’ve been a game-winning drive.
Baylor defender Jairon McVea made the biggest tackle in program history, somehow stopping the Oklahoma State running back from turning the corner despite the fact that, upon first look, it appeared Blake Shapen had an easy score.
Baylor’s radio call, performed by John Morris, was just as memorable.

Could Baylor make the College Football Playoff?
The Bears definitely have a chance, which is more than we could’ve said just hours ago. Ranked No. 9 in the latest batch of rankings, Baylor will almost surely jump No. 5 Oklahoma State, for one, as well as several teams which do not play this weekend.
The fates of Ohio State and Notre Dame, for example, remain up in the air, as they have the weekend off and must rely solely on the results and CFP committee to place them in the top-4. Controlling their own destiny would’ve been a nice perk, but Notre Dame isn’t in a conference just yet and Ohio State lost to Michigan for the first time in forever last weekend.
Aranda has overseen a remarkable turnaround, making Baylor Big 12 champions in just his second season on the job. The man deserves a ton of credit, as well as McVea, for some all-time effort.
And while we’re at it, let’s give a shout to Morris for not losing his voice, as far as we know.
