Are you wondering who this season’s College Football Playoff selection committee is? Meet the 13 members of the 2021-2022 CFP committee.

Ever since the start of the College Football Playoff with the 2014 season, a group of individuals has acted as the ultimate decision-making body for college football’s postseason play.

At the end of the day and towards the end of the season, the College Football Playoff selection committee makes the choices on which four teams will be able to contend for a national title by playing in the College Football Playoff.

The selection committee changes periodically. The group that made the decisions back in 2014 isn’t the group that is acting out that same task nowadays.

Here are the 13 members of the 2021-2022 College Football Playoff committee.

Meet the 2021-2022 College Football Playoff committee members

The individuals on the selection committee have a wide range of backgrounds. This year, there’s a mixture of individuals that includes former players, a bunch of athletics directors, a college professor, and a variety of other individuals with other titles.

  • Gary Barta: Iowa AD – CFP committee chair
  • Mitch Barnhart: Kentucky AD
  • Paola Boivin: Arizona State professor
  • Tom Burman: Wyoming AD
  • Charlie Cobb: Georgia State AD
  • Boo Corrigan: North Carolina State AD
  • Rick George: Colorado AD
  • Will Shields: former Nebraska offensive lineman
  • Gene Taylor: Kansas State AD
  • Joe Taylor: Vice President for Athletics and Community Wellness, Virginia Union University
  • John Urschel: former Penn State offensive lineman
  • Rod West: group president Entergy Corporation
  • Tyrone Willingham: former head coach at Stanford, Notre Dame and Washington

This collection of individuals will make the call on who will be able to play for a national championship this year.
