The 2021-2022 College Football Playoff schedule will have both semifinals played on New Year’s Eve at the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl.

If you’re a college football fan, you better not make any New Year’s Eve plans because the College Football Playoff holds its two semifinal games on Dec. 31.

The Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl are the sites for the College Football Playoff games this year. Both games will be on Friday, Dec. 31 with kickoff at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. ET. It’s not decided which game will begin first and which will be the nightcap. That determination will be made after the teams are assigned for the games.

It’ll be the best way to close out the 2021 calendar year with a pair of college football games that will determine who plays for the national championship less than two weeks later in Indianapolis.

The national championship game is on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. ET from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
