It’s time to recognize the “most outstanding player” in college football. The Heisman Trophy, regarded as the most prestigious award in the sport, is set to be presented to one of four finalists this season.
Here’s everything you’ll need to know to watch the 2021 Heisman Trophy Ceremony.
2021 Heisman Trophy candidates
This year, three quarterbacks and a defensive lineman were invited and listed as the finalists for the Heisman Trophy.
- Bryce Young – Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback
- C.J. Stroud – Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback
- Kenny Pickett – Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback
- Aidan Hutchinson – Michigan Wolverines defensive end
Although the Crimson Tide hasn’t been as great this season as in recent years, Young has led Alabama to an SEC Championship and has his team in position to compete for a national championship. Along the way, Young has completed 68 percent of his passes for 4,322 yards and 43 touchdowns against just four interceptions.
Stroud’s season started off a little shaky, but he was able to get things turned around and was able to quickly started performing at a very high level. Stroud helped lead the Buckeyes to a 10-2 record and completed 70.9 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,862 yards and 38 touchdowns against five interceptions.
Pittsburgh finally found a way to break through and win the ACC Championship and Pickett was a huge reason why. Pickett completed 67.2 percent of his passes and threw for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns against seven interceptions. With the Panthers set for the Peach Bowl, Pittsburgh had one of its best seasons in a while thanks to Pickett.
Speaking of players who helped elevate their team’s ability to succeed, Aidan Hutchinson terrorized Big Ten quarterbacks and running backs all season. Hutchinson was a force and helped Michigan beat Ohio State, win the Big Ten Championship, and make it to the College Football Playoff. Hutchinson recorded 58 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks.

Bryce Young is the current favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. After a dominating performance against the Georgia Bulldogs to win the SEC Championship, Young is the name to watch to be this year’s Heisman winner.
