Even though the Nebraska Cornhuskers didn’t want to be in the Big 12, it looks like one of their former quarterbacks hopes to find success in the conference.

One of the more intriguing quarterbacks in the transfer portal has found his new home. Adrian Martinez has officially moved on from the Nebraska Cornhuskers and will now be competing in the Big 12.

Martinez, who leaves Nebraska after playing in 39 games for the Cornhuskers, will now get a chance at a fresh start with a new team. He’s officially set to join the Kansas State Wildcats, according to a tweet.

During his time at Nebraska, Martinez showed his athleticism and ability to be a true dual threat quarterback. While completing 63.5 percent of his passes, Martinez threw for 8,495 yards and 45 touchdowns against 30 interceptions. Martinez ran for 2,288 yards and 35 touchdowns.

Now he’s taking that production to Kansas State.

Chris Klieman and the Wildcats could certainly use an innovative quarterback who can elevate the way the whole team plays. So far under Klieman, Kansas State has struggled to develop a quarterback through traditional recruiting means.

With Martinez coming in, the Wildcats are getting a quarterback who has shown he can be an explosive athlete. He’s done a lot over the past few years to do everything he possibly could to help Nebraska win. Having played since his freshman season, Martinez has gained a ton of experience.

The only thing Martinez doesn’t have experience with is actually winning.

Maybe joining Kansas State, a team that experiences steady amounts of success, can help with that. Competing in the always unpredictable and very chaotic Big 12 certainly can’t hurt.
