Deron Williams tunes up Frank Gore on Paul vs. Woodley 2 undercard
On the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2, Deron Williams and Frank Gore let it fly in the ring. Williams got the best of Gore.
It wasn’t pretty, but it was indeed entertaining. Deron Williams and Frank Gore engaged in a crazy exhibition bout on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2.
Williams is a former NBA player, and Gore is a former NFL running back. Neither are professional boxers, but they can still throw some leather. Williams definitely got the better of Gore, which probably surprised many people.
Williams is 6-foot-3 and towered over the 5-foot-9 Gore. He used his long arms to drop straight right hands on Gore for the entire four rounds of their boxing bout. He caught Gore in round 1 with one of those rights and kept them coming.

Deron Williams beat up Frank Gore on the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2 undercard
Round 2 got messy. Williams was beating Gore up along the ropes, and then he violently threw Gore to the canvas. It was a flagrant foul by the NBA’er, and Gore needed some time to recover.
Gore came right back and pushed Williams to the ground. Just like that, the boxing bout turned into a wrestling match.
Gore made a grave mistake in round 3. He didn’t protect himself at all times and turned his head with his hands down. Williams smashed a right to his jaw, and Gore doubled over. Williams kept up his assault against the defenseless Gore, and the referee called a standing eight count.
Gore made it out of the round and made it to the final bell, but he was exhausted. The judges returned a split decision with scores of 38-37 for Gore and 38-37 and 40-35 for Williams.
After the fight, Williams said he was done with boxing, but he had one night of glory in the ring. Maybe he’ll reconsider because he showed some hands. Time will tell.
