The Golden State Warriors have Klay Thompson back and he’s making his return clear as he puts the Cleveland Cavaliers on a poster.

Klay Thompson is officially back for the Golden State Warriors.

In his long-awaited return from injury, Thompson is making some impressive plays that would make it seem like he hasn’t missed out on some incredibly significant time over the past couple seasons.

One of those plays? Well, Thompson drove in and dunked, posterizing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the process.

That’s just not a play that an injured player makes. It’s impossible to deny that Thompson is back and he’s looking pretty solid.

Golden State Warriors: Klay Thompson finally back after devastating injuries

Thompson has been out for quite some time. He initially tore the ACL in his left knee in the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

That injury in Game 6 of the Finals was bad enough but, unfortunately, his second injury was also remarkably frightening. Thompson suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in November 2020. He hasn’t been able to return and play since.

Until tonight that is.

Those kinds of injuries are terrifying when they happen individually. To work on recovering from one and then suffer the other later is rough. It’s impressive that Thompson has been able to work through all of that and return tonight.

And it’s not just that he’s on the court taking a few shots. Being willing to go up and make a play like that, which would require some strength and some trust that everything will hold up when he lands, is worth celebrating.

So far against the Cavs, Thompson has 14 points and a couple of rebounds. Although he made the start for Golden State, Thompson has only played 17 minutes.
