As the NFL season starts to wrap up for many teams, several franchises turn their eyes to the future and the 2022 NFL Draft.

The NFL regular season is just about done. Everything is wrapped up for many teams. Now, as several start preparing for the 2022 NFL playoffs and trying to make a run to the Super Bowl, everyone else should start examining their organizations and consider what they want their future to look like.

For most, that starts with the NFL Draft. The draft is the best way to build a successful team over a period of time. It’s the most effective way to assemble a roster that can sustain success for a while.

And it’s also a ton of fun for fans to keep up with.

Fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans should all be looking forward to the future because, well, the present for each of these franchises stinks. But, with a new draft and some early draft picks, fans will have reasons to start hoping that maybe things will be better in the near future. Or maybe we’ll get some big name busts to start discussing. Who know?! Anything can happen.

So, here’s how the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up as the season winds down.

2022 NFL Draft order

As it currently stands, this is what the NFL Draft order looks like.

  1.  Jacksonville Jaguars
  2. Detroit Lions
  3. Houston Texans
  4. New York Jets
  5. New York Giants
  6. Carolina Panthers
  7. New York Giants
  8. Atlanta Falcons
  9. Denver Broncos
  10. New York Jets
  11. Washington Football Team
  12. Minnesota Vikings
  13. Cleveland Browns
  14. Baltimore Ravens
  15. Philadelphia Eagles
  16. Philadelphia Eagles
  17. Los Angeles Chargers
  18. New Orleans Saints

The rest of the NFL Draft order can be determined after Sunday night’s games, and moving forward based on which teams are knocked out of the playoffs first.

Obviously, it’s generally better to have an early draft pick. Folks at the front of the line will get the chance to select from a wide variety of players to address any number of needs. That said, we’ll see how well they do with their draft picks.
