It appears as if Mike McCarthy isn’t having any fun in the NFL Playoffs as the Dallas Cowboys are floundering against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Dallas Cowboys are underperforming in the playoffs and people who have kept up with Mike McCarthy’s career don’t appear too surprised by his team’s struggles. Whether it’s fair or not, McCarthy has a reputation for falling short in the playoffs.
Sure, there’s that Super Bowl win, but many attribute that, along with much of McCarthy’s success with the Green Bay Packers, to quarterback Aaron Rodgers being able to overcome a number of issues.
But with the Cowboys trailing the 49ers, McCarthy is drawing plenty of criticism for his coaching and the way his team is performing.
Dallas Cowboys: Twitter roasts Mike McCarthy as Cowboys struggle in NFL Playoffs
And of course, as the Cowboys struggle and make a multitude of dumb mistakes, Twitter didn’t hold back on McCarthy.
Risk taker McCarthy waits until the playoffs to go conservative and I hate it.

McCarthy isn't going to survive this is he? https://t.co/ucxD6NtXnu

Mike McCarthy talking into an apple watch: "We tried to fake a punt twice in a row to get them to burn a timeout, then we got a delay of game then settle for a long field goal anway. Send help."

The Cowboys have looked remarkably bad against San Francisco. While Dallas looked very respectable through the regular season, McCarthy and the Cowboys haven’t appeared all that great today.
The delay of game following the fake punt and then a 51-yard FG to cut the lead from 16 to 13 with under 12:00 left might be McCarthy’s Mona Lisa.

People aren’t impressed with McCarthy right now. The Cowboys should be performing better than they are right now. This sort of underwhelming showing against San Francisco will not help improve the way people perceive McCarthy or his legacy.

They sold this game on nostalgia and they got it: The Cowboys not being ready to go for a 4:30 Sunday playoff game and Mike McCarthy not knowing what to do with anything. That's the football I remember. Traditions.

The Cowboys will have a chance to get back into this game, but they’re down 23-10 with a little under nine minutes left in the fourth quarter. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott and this offense will need to get going immediately.
