Tom Brady has hilarious reaction to Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement

NFL legend Tom Brady wished former rival Ben Roethlisberger the best in retirement, while also taking a jab at his training regimen. 

At 44 years old, Brady has outlasted most of his former adversaries, and you can add Roethlisberger to that list.

TB12 and Big Ben met 12 times, with Brady winning nine of those matchups. His Patriots were constantly a pillar in the way of Roethlisberger’s Steelers, thus limiting their Super Bowl runs to three over Big Ben’s 18 years in Pittsburgh.

Out of those three Super Bowl trips, Roethlisberger only won two as compared to Brady’s six.

To consider Roethlisberger Brady’s equal would be a fallacy, but the GOAT acknowledges the game’s greats when he can. Brady paid homage to Roethlisberger on Thursday, with the Steelers quarterback officially announcing his retirement from football.

“Ben defied the TB12 Method in favor of the “Throw Some Ice On It” method his whole career, and ended up an all-time-great with 6 Pro-Bowls and 2 Super Bowls,” Brady tweeted. “There’s more than one way to bake a cake!”

Roethlisberger was often toughness personified at the quarterback position. Born in Ohio and living out adulthood in a former Steel town, Big Ben was a different breed at the position. The 18-year Steeler was almost constantly dealing with some sort of injury, but always played come Sunday.

That’s what he’ll be remembered for most in Pittsburgh. Roethlisberger was a model of consistency. For better or worse, Steelers fans would ride with him on a weekly basis for nearly two decades.

Ben rarely got past Brady and the Patriots in the AFC. His Steelers teams — unfortunately for Pittsburgh –shared an era with one of the greatest dynasties in the history of sports. But that didn’t stop Roethlisberger from achieving some truly remarkable individual feats, and winning two Lombardi trophies to boot.
