2022 NFL Draft: Kansas City Chiefs 7-round mock

With the 2022 NFL Draft right around the corner, some big decisions are on the way for Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach. 

The 2021 NFL season is officially in the books and all eyes are on 2022 for the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes is already fired up to put the pads back on, as he and the Chiefs are ready to try and get back to the Super Bowl.

Before teams take the field for Week 1, we’ve still got the NFL Draft to get through. Who could end up making their way to Kansas City from the college ranks?

Kansas City Chiefs Mock Draft – First Round

In the first round, the Chiefs hold the No. 30 overall pick. This team needs some help on defense and this of course includes things up front. That’s why South Carolina defensive end Kingsley Enagbare would be a solid get for Kansas City late in the first round.

Checking in at 6-foot-4, 264 pounds, Enagbare was a force for the Gamecocks this past season. He finished the year with 44 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. With his size and speed, he’s being viewed at a a late first-round/early second-round pick.

For the Chiefs, Enagbare would be a wise selection, especially if the team decides to part ways with Frank Clark. Clark is no doubt a stud pass-rusher for Kansas City, but the team would save $12.7 million in cap space if they were to cut him.

Due to his high salary, Veach may make the tough call and release Clark this spring. If that turns out to be the case, then bringing in a pass-rusher like Enagbare could really help out the defense. The pressure is on for this first-round pick, but Enagbare would be a player Chiefs fans could enjoy.
