Rumors have been swirling about Patrick Mahomes and his fiancée, Brittany Matthews, and brother, Jackson Mahomes. Now, his mom has chimed in.

Most NFL fans are more than aware of the social media craze that surrounds Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes due to the presence of his fiancée, Brittany Matthews, and (more frustratingly and notably) brother, Jackson Mahomes.

That, however, all got brought up in an extremely weird manner this past week. A rumor began circulating that Mahomes sat down with Matthews and his brother and told them that they weren’t allowed to come to Chiefs games moving forward as they caused too much of a distraction.

Mahomes responded to this himself by saying that “people will make up anything”, seemingly putting those rumors to bed in itself. Yet, that didn’t stop people from talking and speculating about the matter.

And as such, the matriarch of the Mahomes family, Randi, had to get involved.

Patrick Mahomes’ mom has a simple message amid rumors: Leave us alone

Making use of the increasingly popular Kanye West meme, Randi Mahomes made it clear that she and her family want the rumor mill to leave them alone.

That’s the double-edged sword of popularity and celebrity. Unfortunately, there is no world in which arguably the biggest young star in the NFL and his family with a boisterous social media presence are going to avoid the limelight.

At the same time, though, it’s not at all fair that people start making things up or bullying the family for the engagement (which, let’s be real is the only reason). According to Patrick Mahomes and virtually everyone involved, every bit of this rumor was fabricated. And that’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed for Mahomes, his family, or really anyone in the public spotlight.

dark. Next. Stop it, Patrick Mahomes didn’t tell anyone in his family to no longer attend Chiefs games
