MLB fans will be ready to hit their favorite ball parks come early April, as the date for Opening Day has been set.
Jubilation doesn’t even begin to describe the way baseball fans are feeling on Thursday, as it was announced that the MLB lockout is now over. With this, players can start reporting to spring training and get ready for what should be a memorable 2022 campaign.
Spring training games will begin on March 18. Then, Opening Day will arrive on April 7. People across the country can’t wait for that day to arrive. While things may be delayed a little bit, there’s plenty of relief knowing MLB and the MLBPA were able to come to an agreement.
Players can report to spring-training camps as early as tomorrow. Opening Day is expected to be April 7, as @JesseRogersESPN first reported. Transactions unfreeze upon ratification, which is expected to come as early as today, meaning free agents can sign and trades can occur.

MLB fans can’t wait for Opening Day to arrive
Baseball stadiums will be packed come April 7, with people ready to watch some amazing play, while also taking down some hot dogs and cold beverages. Few things beat a baseball game in the spring, especially when your club has strong World Series odds.
The Dodgers are the favorites to win it all this season, but teams like the Astros, White Sox, Mets, Blue Jays and Yankees will be ready to try and surprise people as well. Hey, don’t forget about the Atlanta Braves either, as the reigning champs welcome back plenty of star power too.
All in all, the past few months have been a bit of a nightmare with the lockout, but everyone can now put that in the past. Soon enough, people will be able to hear those two words that bring so much joy and happiness to so many: play ball.
