The Cleveland Browns will not be considered as a landing spot for Deshaun Watson, despite some initial interest. Now they must run back to Baker Mayfield.
Cleveland went as far as to say they want an “adult” as their starting quarterback, rather than Baker Mayfield. While that’s an obvious shot at Baker — a man who does not have over 20 sexual assault allegations against him — Cleveland eventually took their medicine.
Watson will not consider Cleveland as a primary trade destination, instead opting for one of several interested NFC South teams — the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints all remain interested.
Cleveland, yet again, have shot themselves in the foot.

What this means for Mayfield’s future remains to be seen, though Cleveland is sure to say they’re ‘firmly committed’ to the former No. 1 selection, despite the fact that wasn’t true an hour ago.

Mayfield will likely move on from this episode and forgive Cleveland — at least in practice. He will not forget, however.
