Former Packers CB on signing with Vikings: I’m not a traitor
After signing a new deal with the Minnesota Vikings, cornerback Chandon Sullivan has been getting blasted by Packers fans.
Cornerback Chandon Sullivan surprised a lot of people this week, as he and the Minnesota Vikings reached a new deal. Sullivan had spent the past three years with the Green Bay Packers, starting 10 games for the team last campaign.
Now, Sullivan will be suiting up for one of Green Bay’s biggest rivals. Packers fans aren’t too happy with the defensive back, as they’ve been letting him have it on Twitter. Sullivan defended himself over the weekend, telling everyone that’s so upset with him that he’s not a traitor.
Chandon Sullivan wants Packers fans to get off his back
From that quote above, it sure sounds like Sullivan wanted to return to the team, but he and general manager Brian Gutekunst couldn’t get on the same page. Because of this, Sullivan fielded offers out in free agency and decided the best move for his career was to head to Minnesota.
That’s still tough to accept for the Green Bay faithful, as it’s been a rough offseason for them thus far. While Aaron Rodgers is back on his multi-year contract, people are still in disbelief that Davante Adams won’t be catching balls from him next fall.
Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in one of the biggest deals of the year. The loss of Adams is massive for the offense, as it’s going to be difficult to replace an All-Pro talent like him. Now, Sullivan signing with the Vikings has added an extra sting for the fanbase.
He doesn’t have any ill will towards the team, but it seems like Packers fans will be ready to boo him heavily when the Vikings head to Lambeau Field this season.
