The NBA Playoffs are officially set to begin on Saturday, Apr. 16, with 16 teams fighting for the chance to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the end of the tournament. For those wondering what the very first game of the playoffs will be, it is none other than the Dallas Mavericks hosting the Utah Jazz.
Dallas will open up their first-round series without star Luka Doncic available. In the team’s regular-season finale, Doncic left the game against the San Antonio Spurs with a left calf strain. Doncic was already ruled out for Game 1, and could very well miss Game 2. The Mavericks will certainly hope that he can return sooner rather than later, especially if they want to defeat the Jazz.
Meanwhile, Utah is looking to bounce back from last year’s playoff disappointment. After clinching the No. 1 seed last year, the Jazz were eliminated in the second-round by the Los Angeles Clippers. With Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert active, their chances of winning always improve.
Here is how you can watch the opening contest of the Jazz-Mavericks opening round series
