Andrew Wiggins former teammates react to his incredible NBA Finals performance
By Scott Rogust
Andrew Wiggins had a huge Game 5 win in the NBA Finals, and he received some love from his former Minnesota Timberwolves teammates.
The Golden State Warriors returned home for Game 5 of the NBA Finals to face the Boston Celtics. Things were not easy for Golden State, as star Steph Curry had an uncharacteristically bad game when compared to the four previous contests. Luckily, Andrew Wiggins carried the load for the Warriors, as he dropped 26 points in the team’s 104-94 win.
Wiggins received a ton of love after the game on social media. He also received some huge support from his former Minnesota Timberwolves teammates — Zach LaVine and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Andrew Wiggins receives love from Karl-Anthony Towns, Zach LaVine after huge Game 5
The trio played together from when Towns was drafted in 2015 until the 2017 offseason when LaVine was dealt to the Chicago Bulls in the Jimmy Butler trade. Wiggins spent the majority of his NBA career with the Timberwolves until he was traded to the Warriors in 2020 in the deal that sent D’Angelo Russell to Minnesota.
Wiggins was named to the All-Star Game this season, and now, he had possibly the game of his career to give the Warriors a 3-2 series lead over the Celtics.
Curry had a dreadful performance for Golden State, as he scored 16 points while making 7-of-22 shot attempts and not making a single one of his nine three-point attempts. Yet, Wiggins was able to make up for it by shooting 12-of-23 from the field to get his 26 points, and grabbed 13 rebounds to secure the double-double.
Wiggins and the Warriors will look to close out the series with a Game 6 win on Thursday, June 16. As evidenced in the tweet above, Wiggins will have the support of his former teammates in Towns and LaVine.
