24. Compile a workout playlist
Working out can be kind of boring. Or difficult. Or painful. Some people say pain is weakness leaving the body. They are wrong. Itās just pain.
One way to mitigate all the less fun aspects of working out is distraction by music. If you have a good beat going or an attention-getting emotional song playing it can take your mind off the repetitive, restless activity of making all that unsightly fat go away. Anything you can do to make the experience less horrible, and awful, and bad is worth it.
Now, whether or not you work out after compiling your playlist makes no difference to me. I donāt care. What I do care about is that if you do work out, youāre doing it with the best possible audio accompaniment for you. Specifically for you.
One thing people discount is that not every good workout song has to be fast-paced. For example, I have this on my workout playlist:
I have a lot of feelings tied to this song, and while itās playing the minutes seem to fly by.
Also, many video game songs are surprisingly good for working out:
You donāt always need words to be sucked into the moment.
Finally, consider wrestling themes as well:
Keep your options open. Try to get at least a good two hours worth of music so youāre not hearing the same songs every time you work out. Some variety is good.
