5. Tweet through it

“Everyone knows how bored I am right now,” you might think to yourself. But does everyone actually know that? When was the last time you mentioned it? It’s better to play it safe. Tweet out how much you miss NBA action. You’ll find people like you.

You can also beseech news breakers for trade rumors. Maybe they’ll have something new for you. Or maybe they’ll make something up to keep the news cycle fresh. Your tweet to them may or may not make a difference, but isn’t doing nothing worse than at least trying?

Or talk about hobbies you’ve picked up that are only there to take up space where the NBA used to be. You can mask desperation as personal growth. Or you can just be straight up about it and be like “Check out this sweet lego dinosaur I just made. I am so bored without new Ja Morant highlights.”

Let’s be real. You can’t be expected to have everything together right now. Sure you’ve been through offseasons before, but maybe this one is worse for you for some reason. You might be unraveling. Why keep this to yourself? You have social media to send things out into the world, good and bad. Air it out. Keeping negative thoughts inside your head forever can lead to a bad personal spiral.

Here are a few to try to start you off:

“I don’t miss Jeff Van Gundy, but I contemplated the idea of missing him.”

“Where are Charles and Shaq to tell me how to feel about things?”

“I am just bones and skin. Empty inside. Help.”

Now you go.
