1. Nebraska over Oklahoma

Storylines are an integral part of any college football season. The journey each team takes matters, whether it’s to the College Football Playoff or a dumpster fire of a campaign.

The journey Nebraska has taken this season, going back several years in fact, has been one of pain and frustration. It all culminated in the firing of Scott Frost after a loss to Georgia Southern.

What an amazing story it would be if interim head coach Mickey Joseph was able to turn things around so quickly that Nebraska got a rivalry victory over a Top 10 foe in his first game in charge.

The Cornhuskers host No. 6 Oklahoma on Saturday. The former Big 12 rivals have met 87 times before. They’ve played a Game of the Century as the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in 1971. Games between the two have decided conference championships and more.

Nebraska nearly pulled off an upset this time last year in a 23-16 loss. Getting it done now would be storybook stuff.

Finally, yes, I’m a USC fan. Yes, I have had to deal with a million Oklahoma fans in my Twitter mentions for months. Yes, the schadenfreude is in full force. And yes, the Trojans could get upset by Fresno State on Saturday evening a lot more easily than Nebraska actually pulling this off. But it just wouldn’t be as funny.
