If unranked Missouri somehow upsets No. 1 Georgia, college football fans will be in rare form.

Although a home upset of Georgia is highly unlikely for Missouri, this is a conference game.

While Mizzou is hovering around .500 at 2-2 and hoping it can achieve bowl eligibility this season under Eliah Drinkwitz, Kirby Smart and the boys are looking at getting back to the College Football Playoff and repeating as national champions. The Dawgs are 4-0 and the No. 1 team in the land, but they played down to Kent State last Saturday at home, much to their rabid fanbase’s chagrin.

Believe it or not, Mizzou has actually beaten Georgia one time in the past decade. It was a doozy.

When was the last time Missouri beat Georgia?

It was a different era for both programs, but No. 25 Mizzou came into Athens and handed then-No. 7 Georgia its second loss on the season. It was one of the worst games of Aaron Murray’s illustrious UGA career, as Gary Pinkel’s Missouri Tigers handled Mark Richt’s Bulldogs 41-26 on Oct. 12, 2013. Mizzou would go on to win the SEC East that season, its second year in the league.

Georgia football record vs. Missouri

Although they have been SEC East opponents since 2012, Georgia has only lost to Missouri that one time. The Dawgs hold a 10-1 all-time record over the Tigers, including a 9-1 mark since Mizzou joined the SEC. To date, Georgia has never lost a game at Faurot Field. Interestingly, Missouri did repeat as SEC East champions in 2014, despite getting shutout at home, 34-0.

While the Tigers had their moments under Pinkel, it has been a tough go of it in SEC play since he retired from the coaching profession. Former Tigers player Barry Odom fizzled out before Drinkwitz came over from Appalachian State. Not only has Georgia never lost in CoMo, but Smart is 6-0 vs. Mizzou since taking over at his alma mater. A loss to the Tigers would be catastrophic.

We have seen crazier things happen, but No. 1 Georgia losing at Missouri would be right up there.
