College football is wild and beautiful and certainly unpredictable.

That’s why the CFB community has united behind the Jayhawks as the best story of the year. They weren’t supposed to be good this year but they’ve found their groove behind star quarterback Jalon Daniels.

So naturally, when the Jayhawks beat Iowa State to move to 5-0, the college football world celebrated.

College football Twitter is stoked for Kansas football

CFB Twitter has been calling for Kansas to be recognized by the polls for a couple of weeks now. They were the last team out receiving votes last week. This win should guarantee them a spot in the upcoming AP Top 25.

Now all that’s left is for College GameDay to let Kansas host for the first time next week when they face TCU.

The Jayhawks faced a test against the Cyclones. They jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter before Iowa State closed the gap to just three.

Things got nervy in the end as ISU had a chance to march down the field for a field goal to tie. However, they missed their 37-yard attempt with 27 seconds remaining.

The Kansas faithful stormed the field in celebration. With five wins they have already matched their highest win total since 2009.
