Denver Broncos starting quarterback Russell Wilson struggled once again, this time against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Denver Broncos were expected to be juggernauts in the AFC, giving the Kansas City Chiefs a fight for the AFC West title. They did manage to trade for Russell Wilson, seemingly solving their quarterback issues ever since Peyton Manning retire. Instead, the exact opposite has happened, as the offense was among the worst scoring teams in the league.

On Thursday night, Wilson and the Broncos had the chance to get their offense going against the Indianapolis Colts’ equally woeful offense. Instead, Wilson struggled to get anything going. He did not have a single touchdown pass thrown in the game. He did, however, throw two interceptions, both of which occurred in the second half.

NFL Twitter believes Russell Wilson is cooked

Twitter users shared their thoughts over time about Wilson’s bad peformance. In fact, some came to the conclusion that Wilson was, in fact, cooked.

The Broncos traded multiple high draft picks, quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, and defensive lineman Shelby Harris in exchange for Wilson. Then, they signed him to a five-year, $242.6 million contract extension that runs through the 2028 season.

In regulation, Wilson completed 19-of-36 pass attempts for 213 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He was also sacked four times for a loss of 24 yards.

The game between Denver and Indianapolis went to overtime with the score tied 9-9. The Colts took a 12-9 lead after a 48-yard field goal by Chase McLaughlin. Wilson and the Broncos were in the red zone, but Wilson threw an incomplete pass to Courtland Sutton on fourth-and-one to end the game to give the Colts the win. As if things could not get any worse — Hamler was wide open on that final play, and Wilson did not even see him.
