If you felt like you were bored by the Thursday Night Football game between the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, you were not the only one.
There have been some bad NFL games in primetime this season. The Week 2 Sunday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears, then the Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers game the following Sunday night. There is now a new contender for the worst game of the 2022 season.
The Week 5 edition of Thursday Night Football between the Broncos and Indianapolis Colts had fans clamoring for something, anything to happen. Through the first half, that was not the case. Both offenses sputtered out of control, with the punters receiving a lot of playing time. Entering halftime, the Broncos led the Colts 6-3.
NFL fans and media members went on their Twitter accounts to share how bored they were while watching the first two quarters of the game.

If you think Colts at Broncos is unwatchable TV, just wait until next Thursday. Commanders at Bears will lobotomize us all.

Guess you could say the Colts and Broncos offenses are having trouble getting out of the gate

The Broncos were given a lot of love by the schedule makers, as this is their third primetime game of the season. That was understandable, considering they acquired quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks, and their offense looked strong on paper. Yet, the offense has been stagnant through the first four weeks of the season, averaging 16.3 points per game, which was the third-lowest in the league.
As for the Colts, they averaged just 14.3 points per game, the lowest in the entire NFL. So fans should not be shocked that neither team could walk into the end zone in the first half.
Denver put up 103 yards of offense on 29 plays. Indianapolis recorded 144 yards of offense on 35 plays.
For those who are thinking to themselves “next week’s Thursday Night Football game can not be any worse than this one,” well, it’s between the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders. Prepare accordingly.
