Must-watch college football games of week 6: 1. Oklahoma vs. Texas

Yeah, sure, both teams have two losses and it’s not even the biggest game in the Big 12 this week. That doesn’t mean it isn’t the kind of game worthy of having eyeballs stuck on it.

In fact, the state of both programs makes it all the more intriguing.

Oklahoma is coming off an embarrassing and humbling loss to TCU. Brent Venables has had a rude awakening in his first head coaching stint. The Sooners need something to cling to this season. This rivalry game is their chance to restore positivity and hope. A loss could be psychologically devastating.

Texas has also suffered two losses this season but they were able to bounce back last week against West Virginia. They also were without quarterback Quinn Ewers since the first quarter against Alabama. It hasn’t been a great campaign by any stretch but Ewers returning could be the spark that really gets the Longhorns back to believing.

On the flip side, falling flat on their face against a bitter rival even with Ewers could turn up the heat on Steve Sarkisian in a huge way.

So yes, this isn’t the biggest ranked matchup of the week. It doesn’t even involve two ranked teams. However, the potential impact of this game on two of college football’s blue blood teams will make it worth watching at 12:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
