Tennessee’s wild victory over Alabama will give voters a whole lot to think about as the Volunteers grab arguably the most impressive win of the season.

The SEC delivered the game of the year as Tennessee toppled Alabama for the first time since 2006.

The Volunteers dominated the Crimson Tide in the first half but had to fight down to the final second to pull off the upset.

Hendon Hooker connected with Bru McCoy as the clock ticked down to set up a Chase McGrath field goal to win it as time expired.

As fans flooded the field, voters had to be asking themselves, where should the Volunteers rank now?

Tennessee was so impressive on Saturday, they deserve to jump all the way up to No. 2.

Ohio State fans may feel hard done by that but the Buckeyes will have the chance to take back their ranking later in the year. For now, the Volunteers proved they are for real.

Georgia’s blowout win over Vanderbilt should keep them in the No. 1 spot. They just have a very real contender for that place atop the mountain now that Tennessee has gotten the monkey off their back with the Tide.

Alabama’s defense looks suspect but they should still warrant a place in the Top 5 after fighting back and taking Tennessee to the brink at Neyland.
