The Philadelphia Phillies are one win away from reaching the World Series, but blew a late-inning lead in Game 5 against the Padres.

A Rhys Hoskins home run was the only offense Philadelphia could muster against Padres starter Yu Darvish. Meanwhile, Zack Wheeler provided the Phillies exactly what they asked of him — over six innings of two-run ball. It’s what aces do.

Unfortunately, the Phils bullpen couldn’t hold onto said advantage.

Seranthony Dominguez, who’s been phenomenal for the Phillies down the stretch and the postseason, threw three wild pitches in the seventh inning. This led to a run on the board for the Padres, and a 3-2 lead.

While Dominguez had been excellent, Phillies fans are all too used to blown games from their bullpen. They don’t have patience for such things.

Phillies fans upset with Seranthony Dominguez implosion

Three wild pitches in one inning is nothing short of an implosion from Seranthony Dominguez, especially in a playoff game. While he’ll never admit it, the magnitude of the moment surely got to the 27-year-old relief pitcher.

Philly fans reacted on Twitter to Dominguez’s tough inning, and they were not kind.

It didn’t help matters that it’s raining at Citizens Bank Park. The field was a mess when Dominguez was brought in.

Dominguez entered the contest to the Game of Thrones theme song, which was rather fitting given the drama he helped create.

Game 5 is far from over, but it’s not a relaxing experience for Philadelphia’s finest.
