Bryan Harsin’s comments after Auburn loss will have fans red in the face
By Scott Rogust
Auburn fans won’t be pleased with head coach Bryan Harsin’s answers after the team’s loss to Arkansas.
Besides Scott Frost, no one’s seat was hotter entering the 2022 college football season than Bryan Harsin. His first season with Auburn did not go well, as they finished 6-7 on the year, and saw turnover on both the roster and coaching staff. The 2022 season has not gone much better, as they were 3-4 entering Week 9.
In their return from their bye week, the Tigers picked up their fourth-consecutive loss, as they fell to the Arkansas Razorbacks by the score of 41-27.
Auburn fans are already frustrated with Harsin’s tenure as head coach. They won’t like the answers he gave in the press conference, including his answer when asked how Auburn could “get back on track.” Harsin’s answer is provided by On3 Sports’ Justin Hokanson.
Auburn fans won’t like Bryan Harsin’s comments after Arkansas loss
In case you Auburn fans could not think it could get any worse, there was Harsin’s reply to a statement from Tom Green of AL.com that the defense has fallen off over the past few years. Harsin’s comment, as pointed out by 247 Sports’ Nathan King was, “compared to the teams we didn’t coach when we weren’t here?”
In the second half, the Tigers had a 14-10 lead over the Razorbacks. Yet, any chance of the team winning disappeared when the second half started. Auburn’s 17-13 deficit grew after Arkansas powered their way to a 38-17 lead behind a touchdown reception by Jadon Haselwood and two touchdown runs by Rashod Dubinion.
Auburn got to their 27-point total after a nine-yard touchdown reception by Camden Brown and a one-yard touchdown run by Jarquez Hunter.
Auburn’s defense surrendered 520 yards of offense, 286 of which were contributed by the running game on 48 carries (6.0 yards per run).
The Tigers have not beaten a single ranked team this season, and Harsin has now lost to every team in the SEC West during his year-plus tenure with Auburn.
The team next plays Mississippi State on Nov. 5.
