The Tennessee Volunteers weren’t caught looking ahead against Kentucky, blasting the Wildcats back to the prohibition era.
Tennessee looks like a team on a mission right now and Kentucky certainly wasn’t going to be the one to stop them on Saturday.
The Volunteers ripped the Wildcats to shreds in a 44-6 victory that sets them up for an epic showdown with Georgia.
Hendon Hooker continued his Heisman Trophy campaign with three touchdowns through the air and one on the ground. Jalin Hyatt had a monster outing with five catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns. The Tennessee defense limited Will Levis to less than 100 yards passing and intercepted him three times.
It was a complete performance against the No. 19 team in the country and it had college football Twitter salivating for more.
Think it's safe to suggest Tennessee wasn't looking ahead to Georgia.

Everyone: This is a trap game for Tennessee

Tennessee: Nah fam
This is what Tennessee football is supposed to do against Kentucky football.

Absolute domination.
Tennessee is dishing out a decade's worth of revenge on sad fan shots in one season.

I don’t ever want to hear another Kentucky fan compare their football program to that of the University of Tennessee’s ever again.

Tennessee has strong 2019 LSU "can anyone stop this offense?" vibes.

That team still had skeptics right up until they won at Alabama in November. Similar backdrop for Vols' trip to Georgia next week.
Kentucky was coming off an upset of Mississippi State so they had hopes to make it a game. They only trailed 7-6 after one quarter. However, when things went off the rails there was no coming back.
Twitter was merciless in their trolling of Levis and Kentucky as a whole while the Wildcats melted down on message boards.

Between the uniform colors and the melting down in the state of Tennessee, Will Levis is looking like a future Colt for sure.

Does not appear that Tennessee’s defense will be featured on the Will Levis NFL Draft highlight package.

Remember when Kentucky’s OL coach was obsessing about Tennessee during his daughter’s wedding and then UK got its doors blown off in Knoxville https://t.co/AWRhYPEYFO

Tennessee added another ranked victory to their record. They got another Heisman-level performance out of their quarterback. Their defense made another statement. It was certainly a good night for Knoxville.
Attention will certainly turn to the College Football Playoff rankings coming up on Tuesday night and whether or not the Volunteers deserve to be No. 1. Either way, they’ll have the chance to settle that debate on Saturday when they face off with Georgia in a defacto contest for the No. 1 spot.
The way Tennessee is playing at the moment, it’ll be tough to bet against them.
