Here’s the latest on the Packers quest for a wide receiver at the NFL trade deadline.

The Green Bay Packers have had a horrible season so far relative to expectations. Anytime you roster two-time MVP Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback, the expectation is to compete.

Instead, the Packers sit at 3-5, the same exact record as the Chicago Bears. If it weren’t for the horrific Detroit Lions, they’d be at the bottom of their division.

The Packers still have a chance to turn things around because the NFC is a dumpster fire from nearly top-to-bottom, with the Philadelphia Eagles standing out as the only definitively great team.

It’ll take some moves to get better, though, in addition to a more logical set of play calls (players are frustrated about the play calls, too). Why isn’t Aaron Jones running the ball? The Pro Bowler finally got 20 carries against Buffalo this past week, but in the previous two games before it he was limited to nine and eight carries respectively.

Much has been made about the Packers need for a bolstered receiving corps. The Packers lost Davante Adams this offseason, and never really backfilled his role. They replaced him with a committee of so-so receivers which have proved to be not great. The Packers are second-worst in the NFL in passes dropped with 15. Yet they continue to not run the ball.

They could consider these names:

2. Jerry Jeudy, Broncos
3. Brandin Cooks, Texans
4. Odell Beckham Jr., free agent (not trade deadline related)

It doesn’t make sense, but if they’re that bullish on the passing game, they need more talent.
