This week of college football action proved Georgia is better than everyone, Ohio State’s greatest enemy is the weather and no goalpost is safe.

Week 10 of college football had some clear marquee battles to feast on but it delivered even more with upset bids, field stormings and all the goodness a Saturday could offer.

Now that the College Football Playoff rankings have been released, games are even more important as style points become that much more critical.

So which teams made a statement this week and what other wild elements of CFB madness made the day great?

Most impressive college football team of the week: Georgia

In the battle for No. 1, Georgia proved they’re not just the top team in the land. They’re by far the No. 1 team with no one even close.

Tennessee had been extremely impressive this season so when we say that the Bulldogs humbled them, it was a H-U-M-B-L-I-N-G. It was like watching a giant hand emerging from the earth to slap a plane out of the sky.

GIF-worthy video of the day

Word of advice for future opponents of Stetson Bennett and the Bulldogs: Don’t leak the quarterback’s phone number and inundate him with calls and texts before the game. He might get angry. And you won’t like him when he’s angry.

Surprise of the day: Ohio State vs. Northwestern

The weather was awful and so was the performance from Ohio State against Nebraska.

The same offensive sluggishness that had the Buckeyes looking vulnerable against Penn State was present this week. Otherwise, it would be easy to credit the weather for unsettling Ohio State. And certainly, the wind and rain had a role to play. However, even in those conditions, this one shouldn’t have been that close.

Most ridiculous things in college football this week

Wind was the real MVP of Ohio State-Northwestern

As mentioned, the weather was bad at Ryan Field. Really bad. Hilariously bad.

The Pitt Punt

If you challenged a punter to pull off a two-yard punt, they’d struggle to do it. Pitt’s punter proved it can be done.

Headscratching call of the day

Pac-12 refs are routinely awful. Their saving grace is how their worst calls get hidden away on Pac-12 Network.

We’re here to drag those ugly moments into the light:

The refs ruled that Michael Wiley’s hand touched the pylon before the ball, marking him short of the goal line by inches. Literally no one, and we mean no one, can understand how they came to that conclusion.

USC, UCLA and Oregon are still in the College Football Playoff race. God forbid one of them gets screwed over by the next incredibly terrible Pac-12 refs ruling.

College football Tweet of the Day

If you’re having a bad day, just remember you’re not a Texas A&M fan and be grateful. If you are a Texas A&M fan…at least you’ve got BBQ?

The most Iowa thing of the day

Iowa actually had one of their better performances on offense against Purdue. The Hawkeyes are still the Hawkeyes though. That offense is still…challenged.

Back to the drawing board on that one.

Purdue’s train needs a rethink as well…

This week in goalposts

Tennessee fans started a revolution. Now it’s not enough to bring down the goalposts. Now the hip thing is to toss them in bodies of water.

Kansas fans celebrated their win over Oklahoma State that way.

Don’t worry though, the folks in Lawrence already have it covered.

Talk to your kids about a bowl-eligible Kansas. And a bowl-ineligible Oklahoma. It’s that kind of season.
