Georgia eviscerates Tennessee to stake claim for No. 1: College football media reacts
Georgia brought Tennessee back to earth with an impressive win that had college football media in awe of the Bulldogs defense.
Who is the best college football team in the country? The College Football Playoff committee gave their early backing to Tennessee in the first CFP rankings of the year on Tuesday while punishing Georgia for some shaky performances by putting them at No. 3.
The Bulldogs made the committee look silly for doubting them, along with every other media figure who thought the Volunteers could handle Georgia.
The final score of 27-13 was far closer than the game actually played out. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-3 lead and then cruised to victory.
Here’s how the media on Twitter reacted to the game:

The Georgia defense limited Hendon Hooker to 195 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. He was sacked six times.
Meanwhile, Stetson Bennett accounted for three touchdowns, two through the air and one on the ground. He stuck it to Tennessee fans who allegedly leaked his phone number this week by celebrating his first score with a phone signal.
