As expected, Ohio State wiped the floor with Indiana in The Horseshoe on Saturday afternoon.

Not even Bobby Knight throwing a folding chair across the field could stop Ohio State today.

Although the FOX crew was there for Big Noon Saturday, there was nothing big about this game other than the margin in which the Buckeyes beat the Hoosiers. Despite losing running back Miyan Williams for the game, the Buckeyes clobbered the Hoosiers to the tune of 56-14. Ohio State improved to 10-0 on the year and 7-0 in conference play, but that is about it from this game.

The Buckeyes were never going to be tested by the Hoosiers, who might be moving on from their head coach Tom Allen at the end of the season now…

Ohio State beat Indiana badly as everybody largely expected the Buckeyes would

The 42-point margin of victory stands as what separates the No. 2 team in the nation from the likely cellar dweller in the Big Ten East divisional race. Saturday may have been a great opportunity for Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud to pad some stats on his quest to win the Heisman Trophy and be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but their biggest tests lie ahead of them now.

Ohio State has two more conference games left before postseason play. The Buckeyes will face the Maryland Terrapins in The Shell next week before hosting the arch-rival Michigan Wolverines in The Horseshoe over Thanksgiving Weekend. The winner of The Game will be the presumptive favorite to win the Big Ten, make it into the College Football Playoff and challenge Georgia for it all.

Ultimately, Ohio State needs to get healthier in the backfield if the Buckeyes want to keep pace with the Wolverines or the Dawgs. When healthy, the Buckeyes have arguably the most explosive offense in the land. While the defense is much improved under new coordinator Jim Knowles, the Buckeyes can be pushed around at the line of scrimmage, which is problematic in massive games.

How the Buckeyes look vs. Maryland and Michigan will signify if they are championship-caliber.
