College football fans in Bowling Green, Ky. missed the conclusion of Alabama vs. Ole Miss after their CBS affiliate cut to another program.

The Ole Miss Rebels fought to keep their SEC Championship Game lives on Saturday. They needed to win out to secure the West Division title, as the LSU Tigers held the tiebreaker over them. So, they needed to defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 11.

Ole Miss had a chance to win the game, as they were inside Alabama’s own 20-yard line with a little over a minute remaining. Viewers in Bowling Green, Kentucky were unable to watch the conclusion of that drive. Why’s that?

Because their CBS affiliate decided to cut to a show called ā€œFunny You Should Ask.ā€

Some college football fans missed the end of Alabama-Ole Miss

Imagine waiting to see if Jaxson Dart would bring the Rebels into the end zone, only to see Jon Lovitz and Howie Mandel on your television screens.

For those wondering what ā€œFunny You Should Askā€ is, here is the official synopsis for the game show from their official website:

"ā€œFunny You Should Ask is an outrageous new game show that believes every question always has a funny answer. In each half hour episode, six superstar comedians try to help two contestants win a big cash prize. The celebrity is asked an interesting trivia based question and responds with a killer joke. After the laughter subsides, the comedian answers again, this time trying to respond correctly. The contestant must then decide if he thinks the comedian’s answer is right or wrong. After three laugh filled rounds, the contestant with the most money goes on to play the end game for a chance at the big cash prize.ā€"

As for how the game ended, the Rebels faced fourth-and-16 and Dart threw a pass intended for wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, but it fell just out of reach. That allowed Alabama to escape with a 30-24 victory.

To make the loss sting that much more for Ole Miss, LSU clinched the SEC West with the result of this game and their 13-10 win over Arkansas.
