Even in victory, Texas A&M’s fourth win of the year over UMass is rock bottom for Jimbo Fisher.

Not all wins are created equally, as Texas A&M’s fourth win of the season over UMass still kind of feels like a loss for Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher.

While the Minutemen certainly gave the Aggies a scare in the first half, Texas A&M still found a way to win by multiple scores, improving to 4-7 on the year with their 20-3 victory over UMass. With only the LSU game left on the schedule, this has been nothing short of a complete and utter disaster for Fisher’s program. Clearly, apathy is starting to take over this program’s proud fanbase.

Let’s just say this was a less-than-capacity crowd at Kyle Field right around halftime on Saturday.

As ESPN’s Cole Cubelic pointed out, the Aggies are the only SEC program that has not scored 30 points in a game vs. an FBS opponent this year.

He may be making a fortune, but Fisher is solely responsible for Texas A&M’s horrendous season.

Texas A&M is scraping along at rock bottom under Jimbo Fisher’s guidance

At the start of the season, the Aggies were the No. 6 team in the nation in the initial AP Top 25 poll. While there were plenty of people who were skeptical about the Aggies this season and thought they were grossly overrated to begin with, nobody saw this monumental collapse coming. The Aggies might have had a young team, but it is truly shocking how poorly they have performed.

Fisher may have an absolutely ridiculous buyout, but the results speak for themselves. Nobody does less with more than the Texas A&M head coach. While parting ways with him after the worst season imaginable seems preposterous, the fact we are even having that conversation says everything you need to know about the state of the Aggies football program. It is at rock bottom.

Ultimately, the Texas A&M boosters need to distinguish the difference between what is tolerable and what is not acceptable. The lines are getting blurry on the football field these days, alright. In a weird way, it will be just as shocking for Texas A&M to part ways with Fisher at the end of the season as it would be for him to be allowed to continue. The bar cannot possibly get any lower…

Texas A&M fans have moved on to next year already, possibly to other more exciting ventures.
