Caleb Williams strikes Heisman pose vs. Notre Dame: CFB media reacts
USC quarterback Caleb Williams struck a Heisman pose to cap a truly dynamic first half against Notre Dame featuring scrambles, a punt and a PI.
Caleb Williams looked like a Heisman contender against UCLA. In the first half against Notre Dame, he looked like the Heisman winner.
Whether he was throwing a touchdown pass or scrambling away from pressure to create ridiculous plays, he was the star of the show at the Coliseum.
That’s not the mention the 58-yard punt he pooched or the pass interference he committed while preventing an interception on a trick play.
Near the end of the first half, Williams held the ball through the mesh point until the last microsecond to open up an opportunity to score with his legs. After the touchdown, he delivered his Heisman pose.

Williams wasn’t being too bold there. College football media were on board with the idea.
Williams scored two touchdowns in the first half and played Houdini to perfection. He led the Trojans to a 17-7 lead at halftime.
Given C.J. Stroud’s costly interceptions against Michigan, Williams is now the runaway favorite for the Heisman. A win over Notre Dame could lock in the trophy for him. That’s certainly the case the way he’s playing at the moment.
In addition to the quarterback’s aspirations, the Trojans have a huge opportunity coming up. They already have a place in the Pac-12 title game locked in. A victory over Notre Dame will keep them in the running for the College Football Playoff.
Lincoln Riley was brought in to change USC’s fortunes. He brought Williams with him for the ride. The two of them have done everything and more to live up to they hype.
