Pick Analysis. Big 12. (12-1). player. 872. Scouting Report. 2. TCU Horned Frogs

TCU may not have the talent of Georgia, but the Frogs do have the Hypnotoad

Even in defeat, it is going to be awfully hard for the Selection Committee to keep TCU out of the big dance. The Horned Frogs only lost by three points in overtime to a top-10 Kansas State team on a neutral-site. The good news for TCU is USC lost on Friday night, and Clemson does not have any shot at getting in as a two-loss ACC Champion. The Horned Frogs are going to make the CFP.

As far as a potential matchup for Georgia, the Horned Frogs do not have the depth or the high-end talent to realistically beat the Dawgs, all things equal. However, the Frogs do have the power of the Hypnotoad on their side. They thrive amid chaos. Although they came up short to K-State in Arlington, TCU does seem to have that secret sauce to potentially play spoiler in Georgia’s repeat.

Some shenanigans and Max Duggan carrying the Frogs on his back are ingredients in said sauce.

Pick Analysis. Big Ten. player. Scouting Report. (11-1). Ohio State Buckeyes. 1. 812

Ohio State has been pushed around twice by Michigan in the last two seasons

Look. Someone has to be Georgia’s preferred first-round opponent. Michigan is the closest facsimile to the Dawgs in the Power Five. While TCU does not have the horses Georgia does, the Horned Frogs are never out of it in tight ball games. So that leaves us with a potential one-loss, at-large candidate Ohio State. The Buckeyes are immensely talented, but they do get pushed around.

The Game is an emotional one, but losing it in back-to-back years to Michigan is not a good look for Ryan Day and his program. Although Georgia lives to play with its own food, it remains to be seen if the Buckeyes can match the same level of physicality vs. the Dawgs. To be frank, it is not looking very good for them, as illustrated by how bad the last two losses have been to Michigan.

While Ohio State could upset Georgia, the Buckeyes could also get blown out by the Dawgs, too.
