Look: Tulane fans’ ruthless NSFW sign for UCF is completely epic
By John Buhler
These Tulane fans knew what they were doing to troll UCF ruthlessly with this NFSW sign.
With a New Year’s Six bowl on the line, some Tulane fans let everybody know how they felt about UCF with their incredibly ruthless NFSW sign inside of Yulman Stadium.
The winner of the AAC Championship Game between the Greenies and the Knights will be going to the Cotton Bowl as part of the New Year’s Six. Very likely to meet them there are the Pac-12 runner-up USC Trojans, who are not making the College Football Playoff or the Rose Bowl after losing twice in one year to Utah. With it being the best year in years for Tulane, why not go there?
So when it comes to UCF, you can forget yourself, as you are too good to stay in The American!
Tulane fans leave no doubt over how they feel about UCF with their NFSW sign
With Cincinnati, Houston and UCF all leaving The American for the Big 12 next year, alongside national independent BYU, teams like Tulane are in great position to not only win future Group of Five championships, but merit inclusion into the College Football Playoff. The four-team format will be expanding to 12 teams in 2024. By winning this game, Tulane would be getting in … then!
Although Tulane did play in the SEC at one point in its history, enough to win multiple conference championships, we have not seen the Greenies be this invested in football in quite some time. Long-time head coach Willie Fritz was in the mix to potentially take over at Georgia Tech, but decided that he wanted to stay put and keep on building something special over in New Orleans.
Overall, you cannot bring a sign like that to a college football game. While the students always have a way of keeping it interesting, you cannot overstate their creativity or gumption to have a little fun like this at an opponent’s expense. Although they are never going to show this banner on TV and may asked for it to be removed from the stadium, the message was sent to UCF big time.
No matter how the Green Wave finish the year, Fritz has this thing rolling in New Orleans, alright.
