College football coaching peers send Mike Leach love amid health scare

Mike Leach is in critical condition after a health scare on Sunday and college football coaches around the country are sending their well wishes.

On Sunday afternoon, Mississippi State Bulldogs head football coach Mike Leach was transported to a Jackson hospital after suffering a medical emergency at his home. It was revealed on Monday in a report by the Clarion LedgerΒ that Leach suffered a massive heart attack and possibly also had seizures that resulted in brain damage.

He remains in the hospital in critical condition, per a release from the university on Monday morning updating the situation.

In the wake of the news of Leach’s health scare and current battle in the hospital, there has been an unbelievable show of admiration and affection shown for the one commonly known as The Pirate and the Halloween candy connoisseur for the ages. But it’s also been a tremendous showing of love from the college football coaching world.

From Coach Prime Deion Sanders to Nick Saban to Dana Holgorsen to the man at his former post at Texas Tech, Joey McGuire, college football coaches throughout the country showed an unbelievable outpouring of love and wishes for the best along with a request for prayers for Mike Leach.

Perhaps nothing has been more evident during this scary and somber time than how beloved Leach is by fans, the media, former players and obviously his peers has well. He’s made an indelible impact on college football throughout his career and it shows in the reaction to this news.
