Some fans on Ohio State message boards were upset with the team actually playing a competitive game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff even after losing their regular-season finale against the Michigan Wolverines. They received the No. 4 seed, and were set to face the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl. Of course, the Bulldogs are the defending national champions, and set to be a tough test for the Buckeyes entering the game.

Yet, Ohio State managed to lead Georgia multiple times in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve. In fact, they entered halftime ahead 28-24. You would think that this would make the Buckeyes fanbase happy. Well, if you looked at the message boards, you’d be wrong.

Specifically, some were upset with defensive coordinator Jim Knowles.

Ohio State fans angry despite leading Georgia in Peach Bowl

After punting in their opening drive, Ohio State scored touchdowns in their next three drives. Quarterback C.J. Stroud threw two touchdown passes to wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., and Miyan Williams scored on a two-yard run.

While being up 21-7 after their third touchdown drive of the game, Ohio State surrendered 17 unanswered points to Georgia on touchdown runs by quarterback Stetson Bennett IV and running back Kendall Milton, in addition to a 32-yard field goal by Jake Podlesny.

Ohio State did respond just before halftime, as Stroud connected with Xavier Johnson on a 32-yard touchdown to give them the aforementioned 28-24 lead.

The Buckeyes were motivated in the first half, as they look to get back in the CFP National Championship Game.
