Brian Kelly apparently isn’t one to let a good Cheez-It go to waste, snacking on the remnants of his victory Cheez-It shower after LSU’s win over Purdue.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly woke up feeling the cheesiest.

He led his Tigers to an emphatic 63-7 victory over Purdue in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl and ended up getting a shower of Cheez-It crackers to celebrate.

He didn’t waste them, reaching down to scoop up a handful to enjoy.

Who among us wouldn’t do the same? Victory Cheez-Its have got to taste extra cheesy.

It was also fitting for an LSU head coach to reach down and eat something from the turf. Les Miles used to chew on grass from the field. A Cheez-It is a much tastier option.

Kelly’s first season in charge in Baton Rouge certainly wasn’t perfect, but the Tigers found the perfect way to cap it off with a blowout bowl victory.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels went 12-of-17 for 139 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 67 yards and caught a touchdown pass from wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was the Citrus Bowl MVP with nine catches, 163 yards and a receiving touchdown of his own. Backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier also got in the action, throwing two touchdowns.

LSU running back Noah Cain, John Emery Jr. and Derrick Davis Jr. combined for four touchdowns.

The defense didn’t give up a score to the Boilermakers until the fourth quarter. Quad Wilson even put the defense on the board with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Tigers set Citrus Bowl records for points, touchdowns and total yards. Their 56-point victory was the largest in the history of the bowl.

It was as emphatic as they come.
